"Mei-Ling was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduating from Harvard University with honors in 1990. She then went on to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she graduated with her medical degree before completing her training in Internal Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1997. Following residency, she joined the Department of General Internal Medicine at UCSF before entering into private practice in Marin county. In 2004, she relocated her practice to San Francisco to join her identical twin sister, Mei-Lai Lucas, M.D. Most recently, in 2008, she created a concierge style medical practice, Gemini Healthcare, Inc.
She has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF, two terms on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Medical Society and as a delegate to the California Medical Association. After practicing in the Bay area for over 20 years, Dr. Fong is widely recognized as one of the finest internists in the area and was mentioned in the January 2011 issue of “Town and Country” as well as being selected annually as a Bay Area “Best Doctor” since 2011 to the present. Dr. Fong is board certified in Internal Medicine.
She spends as much time as possible with her husband, Tom, and their two beautiful boys, TJ and Tyler. Being an identical twin in medicine has been a wonderful blessing and pleasure, albeit confusing."
