"Dr. Laurencin is a board-certified family physician with over 20 years of clinical experience in the Santa Cruz area She has won numerous awards for her competent and compassionate care including Best Physician in Santa Cruz County seven times. Born in Pennsylvania, Dr. Laurencin received her B.A. in Religious Studies at Brown University, her M.D. and Masters in Public Health at Boston University, and her residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She subsequently completed a research fellowship in chronic disease with an emphasis on diabetes and depression, and is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF.
Dr. Laurencin received board certification in Integrative and Holistic Medicine in 2014 and has lectured on Western and non-Western approaches to chronic medical problems, as well as health issues such as body image and the role of nutrition in health and disease. Board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine, Dr. Laurencin provides palliative care consultation to patients and their families as the Co- Director of the Palliative Care Service at Dominican Hospital. Her extensive experience and training have prepared her to provide comprehensive, personalized, and patient-centered care to her patients."
