"Dr. Lowenthal is a Board-Certified family physician who has been practicing medicine since 2007. She completed medical school at the University of Chicago School of Medicine and residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) where she served as Chief Resident in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Often described by her patients as smart, warm and empathetic, Dr. Lowenthal has been named a Top Doctor by Marin Magazine 2020, a Top 10 Metro Area Doctors 2014 and one of East Bay’s “Best Doctors” by Oakland Magazine in 2012. She is also is a six-time Patient’s Choice Award recipient and a four-time Compassionate Doctor Award recipient.
Dr. Lowenthal has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. Having treated patients suffering from these conditions for the past 14 years, Dr. Lowenthal has extensive knowledge of the medical, psychological and social aspects of these conditions as well as how they impact the lives of patients and their families.
