"After completing her training, Dr. Cathy Kim practiced conventional primary care medicine on the East Coast and in Southern California for over 20 years, including prenatal, newborn, pediatric, and urgent care. While delivering care to the underserved in the Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) satellite clinic system, Dr. Kim taught herself to speak Spanish fluently to native Spanish-speakers. During her subsequent time at Kaiser Permanente, she received a National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) award for delivering quality diabetes care.
In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Kim has been a project leader for patient-centered care, outpatient preceptor for the VCMC family medicine residency, and a primary care lecturer. Board-Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Kim is a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).
Over the years, Dr. Kim has been an active volunteer and leader in her children’s public schools and is the proud mother of two teenagers."
