"Dr. Schlaerth has been in practice for 51 years including her residency and fellowship. Now has 20 grandchildren, is writing a textbook for non-medical graduate students and others on the changes of aging, has taught courses in the USC Davis School of Gerontology on geriatric physiology and ethics, still runs almost daily, does urgent care on weekends and also works in an FQHC. Also is doing research with residents at PVHMC on geriatrics.
In addition to treating patients at PVHC, Dr. Schlareth lectures regularly at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. She also teaches physician assistants at Cal State University Bakersfield, and has lectured at Loma Linda University.
Dr. Schlareth is the author of the book, Raising a Large Family, and has appeared on Oprah and other television shows as an expert on the topic. She regularly writes for magazines and newspapers on family medicine and raising children. When she is not working, Dr. Schlareth enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and jogging."
