"Dr. Almeida graduated top of his class and with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from The Chicago Medical School in 1991. He completed a combined residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine at the University of San Francisco and is certified by the American Boards of Nuclear & Molecular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Obesity Medicine and Integrative Medicine. He was in academic practice at the University of California, San Francisco and private practice until 2005. He also worked for the Centers for Disease Control after 9/11 for several years as a physician and bioinformatics specialist consultant. Dr. Almeida was an Assistant Professor of Radiology & Radiation Oncology, and subsequently served as the Director of Nuclear Medicine for the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson Arizona. He has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters radiology, oncology, cardiology, nutritional and information science. Dr. Almeida is a fellow of the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona, where he also studied integrative medicine, herbal medicine, nutrition, fitness, acupuncture and stress management. He is a life-long student of healthcare innovation. In 2010, Dr. Almeida established the Phoenix Molecular Imaging facility in Phoenix, Arizona, which provided unique, oncologic imaging and treatment solutions. In 2018, Dr. Almeida founded the Center for Integrative Healing and Wellness at the Civana Carefree Resort, to provide Integrative and Holistic care, bringing in a modern era of wellness. His practice is rooted in providing committed individuals comprehensive, personalized, and technology-enabled healthcare. This approach utilizes the best of conventional, lifestyle, and alternative medical practices.
