"Dr. Dale Wheeland was born and raised in Tucson Arizona. After graduating from Tucson High School, he followed the legacy of his father and both siblings and attended the University of Arizona. He graduated from the U of A with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and continued on to earn a Masters Degree in Toxicology. It was during this period that Dr. Wheeland was first introduced to Osteopathic Medicine.
“I was drawn to the idea that you are more than just the sum of your body parts. I liked the ‘whole person’ approach to healthcare. Instead of just treating specific symptoms, I wanted to help patients develop attitudes and lifestyles that don't just fight illness, but help prevent it. And I was very interested in how osteopathic manipulative treatment was used to encourage the body's natural ability to heal itself.”
Dr. Wheeland graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Northeast Missouri and is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. After Medical School, he decided to return to his hometown of Tucson and went on to start his own practice. Dr. Wheeland is married to his wife, Christine, of 36 years and has grown twin daughters and four grandchildren. In his spare time he loves to cycle and participate in the El Tour De Tucson."
