"As a Dermatologist, Dr. Nathan Peterson specializes in diseases and care of the skin. He has brought an extraordinary level of background and experience to Arizona Desert Dermatology. Dr. Peterson received an Osteopathic Medical Degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and began his post-doctorate training at the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton’s Marine Corps Base. He was then selected to train as a Naval Flight Surgeon and subsequently chosen to serve at the United States Naval Academy. While at the Naval Academy he was an FAA aeromedical examiner and also served as a member of a selection committee recommending USNA students for medical school. This lead him to develop a new class at the Naval Academy in which he instructed pre-med students in preparation for medical school.
After serving in the military and while applying for a dermatology residency program, Dr. Peterson worked for Arizona Desert Dermatology from 2010 to 2012. He left for three years to complete his residency in Dermatology through Aspen Dermatology. During his training he has co-authored three chapters in a dermatology textbook and has been published in nationally recognized dermatology journals. Dr. Peterson’s three year dermatology residency also included extensive training in Mohs Surgery which is a specialized, highly effective technique for the removal of skin cancer."
