"As one of the leading dermatologists in Arizona, Dr. Richard Bottiglione has been providing exceptional dermatologic care to his patients for more than 35 years. His lesser foundation from the small coal mining town of McIntyre, Pennsylvania, surely did not limit his abilities and determination to help people with their skin challenges. He attended the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., in 1974.
Upon completion of the extensive requirements and final medical examinations, he earned his Physician’s license in 1975 while in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Bottiglione completed his internship in Los Angeles, California, at Good Samaritan Hospital, and his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He obtained his board certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 1978 and subsequently went on to work with a fellow Dermatologist, where he was trained in the MOHS procedure.
That fellow dermatologist had studied under the direction of Dr. MOHS, the physician who developed the MOHS procedure which is now used worldwide to effectively remove skin cancers. Dr Bottiglione eventually moved to Arizona in 1984 where he opened his own medical practice. In addition to his initial MOHS training, Dr. Bottiglione also regularly attends courses in MOHS surgery with the American MOHS Society. He has successfully completed thousands of surgical procedures, including over 15,000 cases of MOHS micrographic procedures."
