"Dr. Lisa Bailey is a native of Double Springs, Alabama. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with University Honors from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. As an undergraduate she resided in Tunisia for two months on a Department of State scholarship to study Arabic. She completed her medical training at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. After graduating she moved to Lexington, Kentucky, with her future husband Brian Hixon where they both completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Kentucky. She remained there to continue four more years of residency in the Department of Urology .
During residency she became a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society of Women in Urology, and was appointed a subcommittee member in the Society of Women in Medicine and Science.
She is a board certified urologic surgeon with interests in stone disease, BPH, female pelvic floor medicine and genitourinary oncology diagnosis and management. She was nominated “Best Vasectomy Doc” in the 2020 Nappie Awards and she is a member of the Surgical Steering Committee at Thomas Hospital."
