"Dr. Mulrooney specializes in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Memphis in 1990 and went on to pursue his Medical Doctor degree at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1995.
Upon graduation, he completed a one year Transitional Internship at Methodist Hospitals in Memphis, Tennessee before moving to Kansas City, Kansas to pursue a three year Ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas. Once he completed his residency, he moved back to Tennessee where he completed a one year Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Fellowship with Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Associates.
After Dr. Mulrooney completed his fellowship, he moved back to Kansas to serve as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and as the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgical Service. He served at the University of Kansas until 2004 when he joined VisionAmerica to provide cataract surgery in Athens, AL."
